Gembrook Hill Vineyard
Yarra Valley
Gembrook Hill was established in 1983 by Yarra Valley pioneers Ian and June Marks making it today one of the oldest vineyards in the region.
The winery takes its name from the eponymous sub-region Gembrook which is situated in the very cold southernmost part of the Yarra Valley, perfect for crafting high-quality Pinot Noir.
Finesse and super refinement characterize these beautiful lighter-bodied and fragrant Pinot Noirs made today by Ian's son Andrew, following in the footsteps of his father as well as cult winemaker Timo Mayer who eventually left Gembrook to pursue his own label, Mayer Wines.
The continuity between the three winemakers is remarkable with the Pinot's always showing that high toned red-fruited delicacy which has become the signature style for Gembrook Hill.
Furthermore, Andrew Marks also has his own label called 'The Wanderer' which we also proudly carry in our store.
These Pinot's are some of the greatest in the Yarra Valley. If you haven't discovered them yet, we highly recommend you seek them out.
Great winemaker. Great Vineyards. Great people... enjoy!
