Pietracupa
Campania - Italy
Established in 1993 in the Southern Italian commune of Montefredane within the Campania region near Naples, Pietracupa is renowned by many commentators for crafting what is arguably the finest Fiano in Italy - if not the world. The clay and sandy soils set over a stratus of volcanic rock give the wines a focus, purity and minerality that distinguishes Pietracupa Fiano from others. The winery also makes a beautiful age worthy Greco (white), a Falanghina (white) and a wonderful Aglianico [red]. This is a great Italian producer worth investigating.
