In 1996 Ray Nadeson and Maree Collis set out on a different path, moving away from their careers in neuroscience and chemistry to establish Lethbridge wines.
Their quest was to reinvigorate The Flagship vineyard in Lethbridge, originally planted in 1874 by Swiss immigrants, replanting this site in 1996. In addition to replanting there, they established the Hat Rock vineyard on the Bellarine Peninsula and took on the historic Rebenberg vineyard, a site that played a significant part in the revitalisation of Geelong as a wine-growing region.
With a deep understanding of the importance of terroir, they are dedicated winemakers and growers, managing their sites with sustainable principles informed by organic and biodynamic practices. There is something for everyone at Lethbridge, from world-class chardonnay and pinot noir to the whole gambit of aromatic whites and savoury, spicy reds.
