Intensity and texture on the palate and bright, lifted acidity. Typically it shows a pink grapefruit character, concentration and mid-palate texture, which reflect the carefully selected sites and hand harvesting during the small window of perfect ripeness.

Shaw and Smith Sauvignon Blanc is an Australian classic and the benchmark for all others to follow. Outstanding. They just cannot put a foot wrong!

The Real Review
Pale, water-white colour; pungent intensity of aromas, peppermint lolllies, background lemon juice and herbs both fresh and dried. Lively, delicate, intense palate flavour, great varietal character and finishes clean and dry and long, with balanced but refreshing acidity and an emphatic farewell. Very smart Aussie sauvignon blanc.

Producers notes
Shaw + Smith's winery was built in time for the 2000 vintage. It houses our Tasting Room, offices and all winemaking facilities from fermentation to bottling. Shaw + Smith's environmentally sensitive winery is regarded as the benchmark for winery developments in the Adelaide Hills.
A new bottling line was installed in 2002, ensuring we now have full control of every aspect of product1ion - from grape berry to bottle. The winery design was a collaboration between Asbroek Engineering, JBG Architects and Christopher Connell Design. The winery has a wonderful contemporary feel throughout.
The property was used to spell racehorses prior to 1999. Malcom Wuttke, the previous owner, and current neighbour, keeps a close eye on the place as our "green keeper extraordinaire". His cattle can be seen grazing in between the vines during the winter months.
