Oliver's Taranga Small Batch Fiano 2023 - McLaren Vale
Closure: Screw Cap
Bottle size: 750ml
Winemaker Corrina Wright is known in the wine business as the Queen of Fiano for good reason! Prepare your palate for a textural journey with this Fiano. One minute it’s all pine nuts and cashew, the next it’s kaffir lime and fresh basil with a touch of the tropics. Drink with anything spicy, or just to spice up your life.
Bright and zesty, cut lime drive blended with triple cream brie texture filling out the palate. Nuts, fresh nashi pear, sweet basil leaf continue the flavour journey, generous and mouthfilling.

Reviews
This wine is one of the very best fianos going around these days. It has the rare characteristic of inbuilt texture and structure and isn't fussy about where it is grown, its flavours ranging from savoury to lemony, a go-anywhere wine.
James Halliday
Potential with a capital P, this young Fiano is still in early building phase. The scaffolds up – acidity is keen – and the main works are in place, but it has a little way to go, revealing a serious quality side to the Italian grape variety. Everything sits beautifully in place in readiness. Nashi pear, green apple, spice, lemongrass are a little reserved now, but are the building blocks for a bright future. Texture is also in place and something of a treat. There are hints of a gentle savouriness, too, but this is something that will awaken with a little more time. A top example of a serious Fiano from a difficult vintage.

Producers notes
Six generations of stubborn, competitive growers and one equally spirited winemaker – that’s the Oliver family. Living smack bang in the middle of McLaren Vale, the family flourish on producing perfect parcels of fruit on their 100 hectare ‘Taranga’ property. Their collection of small batch, handcrafted, Oliver’s Taranga wines speak of both the variety and vintage, capturing a time and place, while continuing to document the family’s ongoing 185 year relationship with the land.
