Neil Empson and renowned oenologist Franco Bernabei are the two names behind Monte Antico, a ‘piccolo Super Tuscan’ blend of 85% Sangiovese, 10% Merlot and 5% Cabernet.
Monte Antico is selected from some of the region’s best vineyards and the merits of chosen locations and strict quality parameters make for the wine’s depth, structure and character, showing abundant Tuscan seductiveness with delicious fruit that is both food- friendly and pocket-friendly.
The wine is aged for one year in oak (80% Slavonian barrels, 20% in barrique) and is dark ruby in colour with a bouquet of leather, earth, herbs, black cherry and plum. The round, spicy and elegant palate makes it extremely versatile with any fare from pasta to meat, fowl and cheese.
Our notes
Dark ruby in colour, the medium bodied palate is round, spicy and elegant with bright cherry fruit with some spice, earth and leather, and is undeniably Tuscan.

A super-clean, fruity red with juicy blackcurrant and dark cherry character. Medium-bodied with very fine, fruit-coated tannins and a fresh finish.
