Marchese Antinori Chianti Classico Riserva 2017 - Tuscany
Bottle size: 750ml
Marchese Antinori Chianti Classico Riservais rubyred in color. On the nose, intense notes of wild berries, cherries and blackberries merge with delicate aromas of tobacco and sweet hints of milk chocolate: its bouquet is completed by undertones of aromatic herbs and dried flowers. Its palate is mouth-filling, sustained by excellent freshness and soft, velvety tannins.
The Tignanello estate is located in the heart of the Chianti Classico production zone, nestled between the valleys of the Greve and Pesa rivers, and extends over close to 800 total acres (319 hectares), some 130 of which (415 hectares) are planted to vines. The vineyards consist principally of the native Sangiovese grape along with such non-traditional varieties as Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. The Marchese Antinori is an historic wine of the Antinori cellars which, since 2011, is produced from the grapes of the Tignanello estate. It is a wine which presents itself as the full expression of the quality and elegance of the Sangiovese of this part of Tuscany.
Antinori has been making wine in Tuscany since 1385, putting the word 'experienced' into another dimension. Sangiovese for this wine is grown in the heart of the Chianti Classico region and delivers a wine packed full of red cherry fruit and layers of secondary cinnamon oak spice, tobacco, leather and earth typical of the best wines in the region.
A tight, fruity red with black-cherry and blueberry aromas and flavors. It’s full-bodied with chewy yet fine-grained tannins. Love the polish and focus. Driven and linear. Drink after 2021.
26 Generations: The Antinori family has been making wine for over six hundred years, since Giovanni di Piero Antinori became part of the Arte Fiorentina dei Vinattieri in 1385. Throughout its long history, spanning 26 generations, the family has always personally managed the business making innovative, sometimes courageous choices, always with unwavering respect for tradition and the land. Today Marchese Piero Antinori is director of the company, assisted by his three daughters, Albiera, Allegra and Alessia, who are personally involved in the business. The qualities of tradition, passion and instinct have made Antinori one of the leading Italian producers of fine quality wines. Every vintage, every terroir, every idea is a new beginning, a new quest to raise our quality margins.
