AROMA The wine is super fresh and intensely fruity with blackberry, boysenberry, plum and a hint of spice and pepper.
PALATE The palate is big and juicy with loads of silky tannins and crunchy black fruit. Intense and long, but remarkably well balanced.
VINIFICATION The wine is a combination of three separate batches in the winery. Batch 1 was from C block, and was fermented with 25% whole bunches and pressed directly to tank. Batch 2 was from B block, and contained no whole bunches and was pressed directly to tank. Batch 3 was a combination of A and F blocks and was 100% whole bunches, foot stomped and transferred to old French oak puncheons for 2 months.

The Heathcote region has had a rich and prosperous place in the history of Australia. During the 1850’s, Heathcote was the scene of fevered activity as an important gold field town and today Heathcote is best known for producing another rich and prized gem - Heathcote Shiraz.
Heathcote Estate was planted in 1999 on the ancient Cambrian soils that define the heart of the region. The 500-million-year-old soils are integral to the distinctive characters in these special wines.
The Kirby family established Heathcote Estate with the sole objective to make one wine - a single vineyard shiraz. And over the past decade, the label has forged a reputation for wines of exceptional character and longevity. Led by winemaker Tom Carson, the philosophy is to craft wines that speak of the distinct characteristics of Heathcote and more particularly, this unique site.

Cases are also delivered free of charge, as are any subsequent bottles ordered in addition to the case. The case size is displayed on the product page (i.e. 3, 6 or 12).
