This Grenache has been produced from a single, 80 year old vineyard from the high altitude region of Rowland Flat in the renowned Barossa Valley. It has been created in the same time honored fashion in which the Cirillo 1850 Grenache is made, using whole berry open fermentation and basket pressing. The Vincent offers inviting aromas of rich fruit and soft white pepper.
The palate is generous with intense true varietal characteristics. The delicately rounded and generous mouth feel denotes the 70 year old Foudre barrels, where this wine has rested for 12 months. A superb Grenache that displays lifted fruit aromas and has a lingering finish. A wine that can be enjoyed now, or well into the future.

In 1973 the Cirillo family acquired one of the oldest vineyards in Australia, situated in the Light Pass district of the Barossa Valley where the soil is deep silt sand over limestone and clay. This combination of free-draining top soil and water-holding subsoil has sustained the 3ha of grenache, along with 1ha semillon (previously incorrectly called madeira) and 0.5ha of shiraz planted in 1850, the latter complemented by 1ha of shiraz and 0.5ha of mourvedre planted in 1988. Most of the grapes are sold to Torbreck, leaving only a small portion for Cirillo.
