Billecart-Salmon Brut Rose - Champagne
Bottle size: 750ml
The production secrets and the vinification method of this cuvée go back to the origins of the House of BILLECART-SALMON and have been handed down for seven generations.
The Brut Rosé is a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir vinified as red wine.
Appearance: Its pale and bright pink colour is adorned with warm glints of gold and its delicate slowly rising bubbles give it a persistent mousse.
Aroma: This cuvée unveils a subtle aroma leading to an elegant, delicate bouquet of fine notes of red fruits and zest of citrus fruits.
Palate: Its special method of vinification gives this cuvee a light, elegant flavour, followed by a fresh finish with a taste of raspberry.
This rose champagne is an ideal partner as an aperitif and can also accompany a dish of wild salmon or sushi. For dessert, it will add a sublime touch to red fruit flavours.
Founded in 1818 by Nicolas Francois Billecart and his spouse Elizabeth Salmon in Mareuil-sur-Ay, this is one of the few houses that have remained in the same family. Seven generations on, the house is led by the very talented Francois Roland-Billecart. They espouse three principal aims: “finesse, balance and elegance” and the complete range of wines is testament to this. This medium-sized house in Mareuil-sur-Ay has a good and largely well deserved reputation, though its sweet edged Brut non-reserve can disappoint on occasion, as do the equivalent wines of nearly all its rivals except those who can supervise their own viticulture (Billecart’s own holdings are small).
The Blanc de Blancs has also been inconsistent in the past. The range is extensive; the better wines include both the plump Brut Rose and the rumblingly deep vintage Rose Cuveé Elizabeth Salmon, as well as the consistently pure vintage Cuvee Nicolas-Francois Billecart. Look in general for a clean, limpidly expressive style allied to rounded, soft fruit which is less drivingly vinous than some.
Delivery is currently free of charge for both straight and mixed cases Australia Wide. (*excludes remote postcodes in WA and NT) (*excludes fundraising orders)
In most instances, a case is 12 bottles, including all mixed cases. Please note that the case quantity can vary between 3-12 bottles, depending on individual wine value and packaging configuration.
The number of bottles that define a straight case is marked in the product pricing page (i.e. "as part of any 6", "single bottle" and "3 or 6 or 12 bottle case").
Where all or part of the order is less than a case (as defined in the product pricing options, or 12 bottles if mixed) shipping will be charged as per your postcode at our cost price, this charge amount will be visible before your order confirmation and payment.
For example, a mixed bottle order of 18 bottles will include a freight charge for the second mixed case of only 6 bottles. A mixed 24 bottle order would be totally freight free.
Our intention is to offer free shipping to as many wine lovers as possible, however, given the geographically vast size of Australia, it is not possible for us to offer free shipping to 100% of postcodes.
