Domaine Jean-Marc et Thomas Bouley is a relatively new discovery at Wine Experience. The Domaine itself was established in 1919, although the Bouley Family name has been known in Volnay since 1527. Today the estate is managed by the dynamic Thomas Bouley (4th generation), who, after taking over from his father in 2012 has forged ahead with a clear vision to make his family’s estate one of the finest in Volnay. Based on our recent tasting of his entry-level 2019 Bourgogne Pinot Noir, his dream is now a reality. Watch out Marquis d’Angerville and Domaine Michel Lafarge!
Thomas currently looks after 8.5 hectares of vines across 29 plots, mostly in Volnay and Pommard. Farming is essentially organic, with no herbicides or chemical fertilizers used. There is fanatical attention to detail in the vineyard and it shows in his wines, which are expressive, pure and full of energy.
