Printhie Topography Pinot Gris 2023 - Orange

Topography Pinot Gris is a single vineyard wine that has been deliberately pushed stylistically further toward the richer, more viscous Alsatian style. It shows a bright acidity that is to be expected of the 2022 vintage. A little bit of skin contact and time on lees gives this wine a beautiful copper colour, as well as good weight and texture to offset that racy acidity. We pair it with Kingfish at Printhie Dining, but it’s a wine that will match perfectly with any white fish, or your favourite spicy Thai. A wine that sells out every year before the next vintage is ready, definitely one to add to your next order.
Our notes
The juice spends a small amount of time in contact with the skins, providing a textural layer to the wine, along with a pale bronze colour. Further adding to the wine’s character is its fermentation in large-format French oak foudre, with some months on lees. The oak and lees influence is subtle, adding a slight savoury tone to the wine and creamy richness on the palate. The result is a dry, lively Pinot Gris with a depth of fruit that manages to remain fresh and light on its feet, alongside texture and secondary complexity. (Tom)
