95 Points - Ray Jordan - WA Wine Review 2024
Layered, luscious and concentrated, the palate is focused on blueberries and mulberries. There is vibrancy, freshness and drive, defined by natural laced acidity throughout. A graphite and mineral thread foil ties in the primary fruits and acidity, leading to a diligent and polished finish.

Reviews
“The team at Leeuwin have been putting a tremendous amount of work into developing a Northern Rhone influenced shiraz. And it’s paying off. The aim is to get a high-end aromatic influence on the nose and a seamless and integrated medium bodied palate without excessive oak. In fact, the oak now is in large formats, so it’s obvious influence is diminished but it still nonetheless plays its part. Spicy red fruits with a beautiful palate delivery extends effortlessly.”

“How easily we forget the glories of Margaret River Shiraz, so often overshadowed by its more noble sibling, Cabernet. Wines like this certainly remind us of the error of our ways. Crimson/garnet. There are notes of spices, red fruits, dry herbs, redcurrants, soy, warm earth, truffles and cherries. A beautifully fragrant, elegant and finely crafted Shiraz. Very fine tannins, though plenty of them, with that hint of graphite that seems typical of the region. Excellent length. This should drink well for the next six to ten years. Love it. This is not just one of the very best Leeuwin Shiraz I have seen, but one of the best from Margaret River.”
