Our notes

Beautiful wine. Made by Pete from vines pushing 70 years of age, it draws you in with its alluring aromatics which evolve in the glass the longer you sit on it.

It’s medium bodied on the palate, almost pinot-like in its elegance, with gorgeous Grenache flavours of wild raspberry, red and dark cherries and boysenberry hemmed in by an earthy savouriness balancing the spice notes and primary sweetness. There’s a lattice of fine tannin throughout that gently grips giving the wine its shape and no doubt considerable ageing potential. Give it some air, and look out.

For the modest asking price, this is really something!

The Real Review
Deep, bright red/purple colour, the bouquet savoury and reserved, showing earthy, dry spice, hot-clay aromas. It’s at the savoury end of the spectrum as opposed to grapy. The wine has a smell and taste that reminds of the ceramic vessels in which some of it may have been fermented. The palate is again very dry, savoury and terrestrial - as opposed to fruity. Good intensity, depth and drive, with abundant drying tannins that compound the non-fruity personality of the wine. Pepper, clove and other dry spice aromas and flavours rise out of the wine the longer it's in the glass. A food wine, to be sure. The Real Review, 1 June, 2020

Producers notes

Yangarra Estate is a biodynamic wine farm in the McLaren Vale region in South Australia. The Yangarra philosophy centres around producing wines solely from its single-vineyard estate and the property is devoted to the best grape varieties of the southern Rhone. Yangarra's combination of rare geologies, moderate altitude, abundant sunshine and cool evening breezes make it perfect for growing varieties that thrive in these moderate maritime environments.

Delivery is currently free of charge for both straight and mixed cases Australia Wide. (*excludes remote postcodes in WA and NT) (*excludes fundraising orders)

In most instances, a case is 12 bottles, including all mixed cases. Please note that the case quantity can vary between 3-12 bottles, depending on individual wine value and packaging configuration.

The number of bottles that define a straight case is marked in the product pricing page (i.e. "as part of any 6", "single bottle" and "3 or 6 or 12 bottle case").

Where all or part of the order is less than a case (as defined in the product pricing options, or 12 bottles if mixed) shipping will be charged as per your postcode at our cost price, this charge amount will be visible before your order confirmation and payment.

For example, a mixed bottle order of 18 bottles will include a freight charge for the second mixed case of only 6 bottles. A mixed 24 bottle order would be totally freight free.

Our intention is to offer free shipping to as many wine lovers as possible, however, given the geographically vast size of Australia, it is not possible for us to offer free shipping to 100% of postcodes.
