BAROSSA’S FIRST SPARKLING PROSECCO -4th Release

Prosecco is the traditional sparkling wine of Veneto in northern Italy. Unlike Champagne, Prosecco is made using the Martinotti /Charmat method, which is tank fermented as opposed to bottle fermented which gives its aperitif (before food) origin of lively freshness.

Beautifully frothy and bright with a greenish streak with an excellent persistent bead. Aromatically appley with stone fruits, lime and orchard blossom flowers. Wonderfully bright & dry, fresh, soft & rounded, with excellent acidity, texture, weight & persistence.

’m just saying right now, that for drinking pleasure, I’d rather have this in my glass than just about any NV Champagne. Light perfume, almond, ripe lemon and some rind. It’s chalky, has enough fruit to give body and pleasure, but it’s also saline and clean, very long and seemingly dry and crunchy on the finish. Is that a little Japanese ginger in the aftertaste? Brilliant wine. Get into it.

Producers notes

Domenic Torzi and Tracy Matthews, former Adelaide Plains residents, searched for a number of years before finding a block at Mt McKenzie in the Eden Valley. The block they chose is in a hollow; the soil is meagre, but they were in no way deterred by the knowledge that it would be frost-prone. The result is predictably low yields, concentrated further by drying the grapes on rack, thus reducing the weight by around 30% (the Appassimento method is used in Italy to produce Amarone-style wines). Newer plantings of sangiovese and negro amaro, and an extension of the original plantings of shiraz and riesling, have seen the wine range increase.

Shipping

Delivery is currently free of charge for both straight and mixed cases Australia Wide. (*excludes remote postcodes in WA and NT) (*excludes fundraising orders)

In most instances, a case is 12 bottles, including all mixed cases. Please note that the case quantity can vary between 3-12 bottles, depending on individual wine value and packaging configuration.

The number of bottles that define a straight case is marked in the product pricing page (i.e. "as part of any 6", "single bottle" and "3 or 6 or 12 bottle case").

Where all or part of the order is less than a case (as defined in the product pricing options, or 12 bottles if mixed) shipping will be charged as per your postcode at our cost price, this charge amount will be visible before your order confirmation and payment.

For example, a mixed bottle order of 18 bottles will include a freight charge for the second mixed case of only 6 bottles. A mixed 24 bottle order would be totally freight free.

Our intention is to offer free shipping to as many wine lovers as possible, however, given the geographically vast size of Australia, it is not possible for us to offer free shipping to 100% of postcodes. For estimated delivery times and further information see here. If you have any additional questions, please email us on sales@wineexperience.com.au or call us on 1300 55 44 35
