Proudly from some of the most ancient soils on this earth - The Riverland, a complete underdog region that epitomizes what it is to craft fine wine on the edge. Rich red earth, sandy soils covering limestone. Challenging, avant-garde - and one of the most exciting wines we've crafted to date. This variety hails from the wild land of Sicily - or as some would know it, south of the border - effectively - another Italy.
We're intensely passionate about this variety and it's clear potential in the warm, sun-drenched spots of Australia. Farmed by Ashley Ratcliff - a truly visionary viticulturalist who knows the Riverland like the back of his hand.
The insane water-efficiency of this variety (no water since flowering and across several heat waves), coupled with no additions in the vineyard or winery (save for a small component of SO2 at bottling) displays the potential for this variety to craft succulent, juicy, aromatic and supremely refreshing wine. One of our most gluggable/smashable wines.
Ancient sandy limstone soils; savoury - textural - brooding.
Combine with introductory dishes with meat sauces, elaborate baked pasta dishes and red meats. Try the wine with lightly cooked fresh tuna. Tonno con polenta (tuna with cornmeal). Cannelloni ai pistilli di zafferano farciti al fegato grasso (pasta tubes flavored with saffron and stuffed with foie gras). 'Farsu magru' the traditional meat roll stuffed with eggs, ham, cheese and herbs).
A new venture in the Adelaide Hills by winemaking couple, Brendan Carter and Laura Blanden. Following their passions for italian-inspired, textural and site-expressive wines, they seek to create Australian examples of Mediterranean varieties in an approachable and jovial fashion.

The number of bottles that define a straight case is marked in the product pricing page (i.e. "as part of any 6", "single bottle" and "3 or 6 or 12 bottle case").
