Underwood Pinot Noir - Oregon
Bottle size: 750ml
This is a light-bodied Pinot Noir, as most typically are. In the glass, the Underwood Pinot emits a gorgeous soft red garnet translucent hue. The nose is packed with bouquets of rose violet and fresh carnations. The opening palate is light and easy to put back. Elevated acid backs up bits of dry forest floor, ripe raspberry and cranberry jam. Approaching the mid-palate, the elevated acid keeps the wine fresh with notes of dried currant and wild red berries.
On the close, the wine stays youthful and bright as additional strawberry, cranberry and gravel minerals tickle the taste buds over a medium-short finish. Overall, this is a well balanced and fresh Pinot that doesn’t skimp on the fruit, yet provide wine.
Try pairing the Underwood Pinot with any style of grilled or pan-seared salmon. If you’re in a raw mood, try it with tuna avocado or crab-based sushi. Tempura (fried) sushi is also ideal to pair with most Pinot Noir’s. If you want something a bit heavier, try braised barbecue chicken or roasted dark meat turkey.
Underwood is owned by Union Wine Company, a partnership created by a veteran of the Oregon wine industry – Ryan Harms – driven by a personal passion for well valued wine and a philosophy that the best wines are a union of gifted winemaking skills and precise farming techniques. Underwood draws from the diverse palette of vineyards and wine-growing regions that Oregon offers, to create approachable everyday drinking wines.
Union Wine Co. brings the spirit and character of Oregon to wines you can put on your table every day. We believe that the contents are more important than the container; that good wine should be able to go anywhere.
