"Just so spot on….” - 94 Points, Gary Walsh, WINEFRONT

"Beautiful rosé. It’s a more serious, lighter, aromatic dry style.” - 93 Points, Ray Jordan, The Western Australian

Turkey Flat is an iconic Australian Rose and although it has changed stylistically since its inception towards a drier fresher Grenache-based expression, it really hasn’t looked better in our opinion.

Our notes

What a wickedly good Australian Rose! Dry, feather light, delicate, showing pretty subtle Grenache aromas and crunchy, tangy, just ripe cherry and crisp cranberry infused flavours. There’s a touch of savouriness too which elevates this Rose to yet another level of seriousness. Well done Mark Bulman and the Turkey Flat winemaking team. This is awesome!

Once upon a time, I recall this wine having something of a lurid hot pink colour, now it’s all pale and cool. Anyway, bought a bottle from a shop the other day (it does happen) and really liked it. Now I have an official sample. I still really like it. Lovely perfume with a bit of funk and spice, quiet red fruit and white peach, soft but sure crisp acidity, gentle chalky and flinty texture, a little savoury and earthy on the finish, and very long and composed. Just so spot on.

"Beautiful rosé. It’s a more serious, lighter, aromatic dry style. The grenache is such a beautiful variety. One or 2 per cent of skin contacted white varieties have been included. Has a little bit of palate-cleaning tannins, with a dry, savoury finish. Has that little bit of grip on the finish, which is all about making it such a good food wine. 93/100. Best drinking: Now to 2023" - Ray Jordan, The West Australian, September 8 2019.

Pale salmon-pink; the red cherry bouquet sets the scene for the wholly seductive palate, candy floss never tasting better, the finish as bright as a spring day.

Producers notes

Beginning in 1994, Turkey Flat were amongst the first to lead the great Rosé Revival & have since developed a cult following. Beautifully aromatic, this is a light, crisp & dry blend.

The establishment date of Turkey Flat is given as 1990 but it might equally have been 1870 (or thereabouts), when the Schulz family purchased the Turkey Flat vineyard, or 1847, when the vineyard was first planted to the very old shiraz that still grows there today alongside 8ha of equally old grenache. Plantings have since expanded significantly, now comprising shiraz (24ha), grenache (10.5ha), cabernet sauvignon (5.9ha), mourvedre (3.7ha), and smaller plantings of marsanne, viognier and dolcetto. The business is run by sole proprietor Christie Schulz.

Delivery is currently free of charge for both straight and mixed cases Australia Wide. (*excludes remote postcodes in WA and NT) (*excludes fundraising orders)

In most instances, a case is 12 bottles, including all mixed cases. Please note that the case quantity can vary between 3-12 bottles, depending on individual wine value and packaging configuration.

The number of bottles that define a straight case is marked in the product pricing page (i.e. "as part of any 6", "single bottle" and "3 or 6 or 12 bottle case").

Where all or part of the order is less than a case (as defined in the product pricing options, or 12 bottles if mixed) shipping will be charged as per your postcode at our cost price, this charge amount will be visible before your order confirmation and payment.

For example, a mixed bottle order of 18 bottles will include a freight charge for the second mixed case of only 6 bottles. A mixed 24 bottle order would be totally freight free.

Our intention is to offer free shipping to as many wine lovers as possible, however, given the geographically vast size of Australia, it is not possible for us to offer free shipping to 100% of postcodes.
