The nose is marked by cherry pip and rosehip notes with some dried thyme and chinotto in the background.

The palate has plenty of pomegranate brightness married with berry coulis creaminess, supported by fine, chamois-like tannins.

Hand harvested on 21 Narcg 2018, 25% whole bunches with the remainder destemmed, with whole berries. Cold soaked for three days before being warmed up for fermnet with indigenous (wild) yeasts. Pressed just before dryness on 7 April 2018. Racked off gross lees to Francois Freres and Ermitage French Oak puncheons, 20% of which were new.

Ten months on oak fine lees prior to blending, with 6 weeks in tank before bottling. Bottled 19 March 2019.

Producers notes

Stargazer pays tribute to Abel Tasman, who, as an explorer and navigator, must have spent a fair amount of time gazing towards the heavens. Tasman, a Dutchman under the employ of the United East India Company was the first European to sight Tasmania (on 24 November 1642) and then the South Island of New Zealand, nineteen days later on 13 December.

He is a natural link for me, having been born and bred a South Islander, and now having fallen in love with another island, Tasmania. The opportunity to work with pristine fruit to craft the wines that I am passionate about in an environment of extraordinary beauty is really all I have ever wanted to do as a winemaker.

Delivery is currently free of charge for both straight and mixed cases Australia Wide. (*excludes remote postcodes in WA and NT) (*excludes fundraising orders)

In most instances, a case is 12 bottles, including all mixed cases. Please note that the case quantity can vary between 3-12 bottles, depending on individual wine value and packaging configuration.

The number of bottles that define a straight case is marked in the product pricing page (i.e. "as part of any 6", "single bottle" and "3 or 6 or 12 bottle case").

Where all or part of the order is less than a case (as defined in the product pricing options, or 12 bottles if mixed) shipping will be charged as per your postcode at our cost price, this charge amount will be visible before your order confirmation and payment.

For example, a mixed bottle order of 18 bottles will include a freight charge for the second mixed case of only 6 bottles. A mixed 24 bottle order would be totally freight free.

Our intention is to offer free shipping to as many wine lovers as possible, however, given the geographically vast size of Australia, it is not possible for us to offer free shipping to 100% of postcodes.
