SC Pannell Koomilya Tempranillo Touriga - McLaren Vale
Closure: Screw cap
Bottle size: 750ml
“These wines have strength, intensity, and glorious grape tannins, which wind the palate together, almost like a double
helix. The complex structure pulls you straight through. They illustrate what I'm hoping modern McLaren Vale wine will
be, which harks back to a tradition of what it looked like in the 1960s, without all the artice of winemaking. Above all these wines look and taste, Koomilya”
Red toffee apple and blackberry on entry followed by the earthier elements of cocoa and paprika finishing with Touriga’s signature fruit mince and plum pudding. There is a tension to the texture from a firm spine surrounded by generosity. The tannins ripple and repeat folding back on themselves.
At the end of Amery Rd sits a beautiful 80 acre property, established in the late 19th Century. The vineyards are surrounded by native bushland and are nestled amongst the forest, an important factor in moderating the climate. Home to
three dierent soil types and a micro-climate that gives this property a unique geological and viticultural foot print.
S.C.Pannell the label was established by Steve and wife Fiona in 2004, but Steve's journey to winemaking really dates back to 1969, where as a toddler he grew up on one of Australia's most iconic boutique wineries, Moss Wood in the Margaret River.
The S.C.Pannell winery was realised to focus on Stephen’s passion for the McLaren Vale region and its ability to produce dry - grown and environmentally sustainable Shiraz and Grenache.
In 2014 a new home was established at 60 Olivers Rd McLaren Vale, including cellar door, restaurant, and wedding venue.
Steve's holistic philosophy to winemaking starts with our climate, empahasises the importance on the vineyard, as well as wine's relation to food we love to grow, cook, and eat.
Delivery is currently free of charge for both straight and mixed cases Australia Wide. (*excludes remote postcodes in WA and NT) (*excludes fundraising orders)
In most instances, a case is 12 bottles, including all mixed cases. Please note that the case quantity can vary between 3-12 bottles, depending on individual wine value and packaging configuration.
The number of bottles that define a straight case is marked in the product pricing page (i.e. "as part of any 6", "single bottle" and "3 or 6 or 12 bottle case").
Where all or part of the order is less than a case (as defined in the product pricing options, or 12 bottles if mixed) shipping will be charged as per your postcode at our cost price, this charge amount will be visible before your order confirmation and payment.
For example, a mixed bottle order of 18 bottles will include a freight charge for the second mixed case of only 6 bottles. A mixed 24 bottle order would be totally freight free.
Our intention is to offer free shipping to as many wine lovers as possible, however, given the geographically vast size of Australia, it is not possible for us to offer free shipping to 100% of postcodes.
