Here is another cracker from the up and coming Le Marche region of Italy, renowned by savvy Italian wine buyers for the outstanding quality of the wines, as well as the impressive value, especially in comparison to more hyped regions like Tuscany which lies just to the West.

Le Marche is on the Eastern Coast of Central Italy, a stunning untamed wine region that is just now starting to get the recognition it deserves. As the wines are relatively unknown outside of Italy, the prices are still easy on the wallet.

Montepulciano and some Sangiovese are the main red grapes, although this beautiful example from San Lorenzo is 100% Montepulciano. A full bodied, brooding, dark, complex wine that is both layered and delicious to drink. A perfect wine for the change of season towards more cooler weather, to be enjoyed with hearty dishes like beef bolognese, grilled and smoked meats, osso bucco, meaty pizzas, and strong flavoured Italian cheese.

Our notes

Very Italianate on the nose showing wild herbs, sweet tobacco, old leather, and dark rich cherry, wild raspberry and ripe plummy fruit. The palate is soft, full-bodied, beautifully rounded and smooth, revealing impressive weight and pinpoint Montepulciano varietal characters that echo the nose.

A lovely heavier style Italian red that is quite simply awesome for the money. CR

Producers notes

Delivery is currently free of charge for both straight and mixed cases Australia Wide. (*excludes remote postcodes in WA and NT) (*excludes fundraising orders)

In most instances, a case is 12 bottles, including all mixed cases. Please note that the case quantity can vary between 3-12 bottles, depending on individual wine value and packaging configuration.

The number of bottles that define a straight case is marked in the product pricing page (i.e. "as part of any 6", "single bottle" and "3 or 6 or 12 bottle case").

Where all or part of the order is less than a case (as defined in the product pricing options, or 12 bottles if mixed) shipping will be charged as per your postcode at our cost price, this charge amount will be visible before your order confirmation and payment.

For example, a mixed bottle order of 18 bottles will include a freight charge for the second mixed case of only 6 bottles. A mixed 24 bottle order would be totally freight free.

Our intention is to offer free shipping to as many wine lovers as possible, however, given the geographically vast size of Australia, it is not possible for us to offer free shipping to 100% of postcodes.
