The cuvee name ‘Fluus’ is kind of onomatopoeic to me. Fluuuuusssss. Such flow. Such drinkability. A lush blend of 60% grenache, 24% mataro, 15% syrah, 1% cinsault of which a portion would have been Timaeus, but the Timaeus wine was ‘declassified’ as, to paraphrase winemaker Abe Gibson, the grenache block presented too much in the way of green flavours, which he links to a wet spell in the growing season. Whatever the case, no Timaeus from 2017. Fluus gets bolstered, however. And it’s a cracking drink for the bucks.

The Wine Front
Cinsault, mataro, grenache, less syrah. Possibly one of the most sincerely thought about ‘entry level wines’ on the planet. Set your guns to stun. Fragrant wine, pretty and floral, red currants and raspberries. Palate has crunch and freshness, big tang of acidity, some ferrous notes, vermouth-like acidity. Brisk and fresh. Frisky. Lovely summery red. Simple done so so well. This should be on high rotation, if you can get some.

Producers notes

Our planet is billions of years old. It wobbles beautifully around the sun. Our land is thousands of millions of years old. It has been exposed longer than most. Our valley is hundreds of millions of years old. The story of people in this valley is thousands of years old. The story of crafting wine in this valley is an impressive but mere 160 years old.

We live in Australia. We live in a wide and shallow valley suspended in an ancient mountain range. We live in the Barossa valley.

Many thousands of years of weather is etched into the rocks here. The seemingly endless flow of air from west to east, the powerful sun from east to west, the winter rains and the continental ‘northerlies’ that dominate our summers have all weaved their way into the landscape. The Ngadjuri and Peramangk roamed here for thousands of years. They knew much of the subtlety of this place. As vintners we will endeavor to explore and respect this subtlety, explore and respect the rhythms, the unique character...the natural flow of this place.

Delivery is currently free of charge for both straight and mixed cases Australia Wide. (*excludes remote postcodes in WA and NT) (*excludes fundraising orders)

In most instances, a case is 12 bottles, including all mixed cases. Please note that the case quantity can vary between 3-12 bottles, depending on individual wine value and packaging configuration.

The number of bottles that define a straight case is marked in the product pricing page (i.e. "as part of any 6", "single bottle" and "3 or 6 or 12 bottle case").

Where all or part of the order is less than a case (as defined in the product pricing options, or 12 bottles if mixed) shipping will be charged as per your postcode at our cost price, this charge amount will be visible before your order confirmation and payment.

For example, a mixed bottle order of 18 bottles will include a freight charge for the second mixed case of only 6 bottles. A mixed 24 bottle order would be totally freight free.

Our intention is to offer free shipping to as many wine lovers as possible, however, given the geographically vast size of Australia, it is not possible for us to offer free shipping to 100% of postcodes.
