Red Claw Pinot Noir 2022 - Mornington Peninsula
Bottle size: 750ml
Characteristic perfumed, fragrant aromas highlighted by cherry and red berry fruits, complemented by a touch of spice and underlying French oak. The long, silky palate has lovely elegance, a plush, velvety texture and a finely poised finish.
Handpicked with each parcel handled separately in the winery. Hand sorted and carefully destemmed with 10% whole bunches, each parcel went into traditional open fermenters. The wine underwent three days of cold soaking to ensure even and thorough extraction. Batches were on skins for 5-7 days, after which time they were transferred into French oak (500L puncheons) for 10 months, the blend was then assembled and bottled in January 2023. The final blend of pinot noir clones in this wine is 36% G5V15, 31% MV6, 16% D4V2, 8% 115, , 3% ABEL, 4% 114, 2%667. (Alc 13.5%)
Such a good Pinot for the money, with a silky and seductive texture, and everything you want out of this variety. Winner! Scott
Put this on the dinner table, not in the cellar. Though it’ll hang out well for a few years, this is made to enjoy now. The dark fruit, the spices, the earthy fragrance and the whiff of autumn plus red licorice are enticing. A fuller body, refreshing acidity and decent tannins are all part of the appeal.
