Utterly delicious and smashable Sangiovese from Ravensworth, this wine was a firm favourite at our recent Friday night tasting. So vibrant, juicy and drinkable!
A remarkable wine this. Really. Bryan Martin and sangiovese should be shouted from the rooftops. I often think sangiovese is his opus magnum. This one is from his home farm, organically raised by Bryan and family. It sees six months on skins (!) and two years in foudre. There’s so many dry reds from Australian Italian grape variety wines, pushing tannin, extract, power, this defies so much of that. Quite a thing. Bryan Martin, the Pizzini family and Adam Foster the poster children of sangio in Aus.
Outstanding. Fine boned, pretty and elegant, mind-bending how light the wine is despite the curl and tension of tannin and cool acidity. Sour cherry, cranberry, a bit of sweet spice, fennel. Pretty but with plenty to savour. The texture gets you. The freshness too. Energy is an appropriate word. Understated and wonderful in that way. We’re dealing with such purity and vibrancy here. Keeps me at the glass. Welcome to sangio dress circle.
We've stepped up the production this year, not an easy thing to accomplish given the demand for the variety. There's six different vineyards from Hall, Murrumbateman, Hilltops and Gundagai contributing this year. A beautiful medium bodied wine that carries fragrant cherry and spice aromas with a fine textural palate. Our fourteenth vintage and just getting better and better with vine age and us getting the smarts.
Delivery is currently free of charge for both straight and mixed cases Australia Wide. (*excludes remote postcodes in WA and NT) (*excludes fundraising orders)
In most instances, a case is 12 bottles, including all mixed cases. Please note that the case quantity can vary between 3-12 bottles, depending on individual wine value and packaging configuration.
The number of bottles that define a straight case is marked in the product pricing page (i.e. "as part of any 6", "single bottle" and "3 or 6 or 12 bottle case").
Where all or part of the order is less than a case (as defined in the product pricing options, or 12 bottles if mixed) shipping will be charged as per your postcode at our cost price, this charge amount will be visible before your order confirmation and payment.
For example, a mixed bottle order of 18 bottles will include a freight charge for the second mixed case of only 6 bottles. A mixed 24 bottle order would be totally freight free.
Our intention is to offer free shipping to as many wine lovers as possible, however, given the geographically vast size of Australia, it is not possible for us to offer free shipping to 100% of postcodes.
