Vinification : The whole cluster were gently pressed and the juice naturally settled at 8 celsius, it was then rack of the gross lees and was then fermented in stainless steel tanks at 18 C for 20 days, The wine remained on the fine lees for a total of 60 days and was held in temperature controlled cement tanks until bottling.
Tasting Notes: Deep, dark fruits and a slight earthiness come through on the complex nose. The palate has soft, velvety tannins and great breadth. The finish is long and complex.
This Tuscan example is crafted by the organic winery Poggiotondo, situated between Florence and Pisa. It is fermented entirely in stainless steel, locking in that lively, delicious, citrusy Vermentino fruit. There are also subtle notes of fennel and green herbs with pleasing salty seaspray nuances and typical zippy acidity. So fresh. So good. Top value. CR
The story of Poggiotondo begins in 1968 with Carlo Antonini, teacher, passionate about agriculture and beekeeper, bought the properties historically belonged to the Conti Guidi, an ancient noble family who owned lands in Tuscany and Emilia Romagna, and has given the village its name, Cerreto Guidi in the Medioevo.
