Ochota Barrels Texture Like Sun Field Red Sector 7 - Adelaide Hills
Closure: Screw cap
Bottle size: 750ml
A blend of everything, pretty much, shaped into a very light, fresh red, or, a heavier rose. Sour cherry, pomegranate scents, sprigs of herbs, light dusting of pepper. Juiciness in texture, brisk acidity coursing through just-ripe strawberry fruit character. Nice twist of amaro-like bitterness through the wine, and finishing it too. Great drinking, deserves a chill. Mike Bennie (The Wine Front)
This is seriously lovely. In true Ochota style it pulsates with energy and deliciousness, without any interruption from new oak or excessive ripeness or extraction. Think a light to medium bodied red-fruited Pinot Noir with added goodness and complexity from the Pinot Meunier, Gewurtztraminer, and Gamay.
The focused yet gentle acidity makes the wine pop with immaculate silky texture a highlight and wonderful quality fruit. It oozes character and charm with immense drinkability. A slight chill doesn’t do it any harm either. Absolutely gorgeous wine…
Ochota Barrels is based in Lenswood, in the cool high altitude climate of Adelaide Hills. Taras and Amber Ochota conceived of Ochota Barrels as a way to produce small batch super premium single vineyard wines sourced from magnificent old vineyard sites in McLaren Vale, Barossa and Adelaide Hills. Both are accomplished winemakers who have travelled and worked in California, Italy and Sweden. In Australia Taras worked at Two Hands and Nepenthe. Their winemaking approach is minimalist. Hand harvested fruit is partially whole bunch basket pressed, fermented with native yeast, and bottled unfined and unfiltered.
Delivery is currently free of charge for both straight and mixed cases Australia Wide. (*excludes remote postcodes in WA and NT) (*excludes fundraising orders)
In most instances, a case is 12 bottles, including all mixed cases. Please note that the case quantity can vary between 3-12 bottles, depending on individual wine value and packaging configuration.
The number of bottles that define a straight case is marked in the product pricing page (i.e. "as part of any 6", "single bottle" and "3 or 6 or 12 bottle case").
Where all or part of the order is less than a case (as defined in the product pricing options, or 12 bottles if mixed) shipping will be charged as per your postcode at our cost price, this charge amount will be visible before your order confirmation and payment.
For example, a mixed bottle order of 18 bottles will include a freight charge for the second mixed case of only 6 bottles. A mixed 24 bottle order would be totally freight free.
