AROMA The nose is floral and expressively perfumed with rose petal and violets overlaying a lattice of dense mixed berry fruit, Black Doris plum, and toasted brown spice interwoven with an intriguing whole bunch derived herbaceous lift. PALATE The palate is taut and powerful with powdery fine tannins up front lending a sinewy elegance. A fine streak of acidity offers a lively backdrop to the red and blue berry fruit core, presenting a wine that is both powerful and dense but beautifully light on it's feet.

The Real Review

Very deep, bright, youthful purple/red colour, with aromas of black fruits, mixed spices and dried herbs, and a lacing of fragrant oak adding an extra detail. The wine is medium-bodied and firmly structured with abundant, quite firm tannins. It's a bolder, more solid style of pinot that is typical of the region. A rather obvious pinot with an almost overripe fruit note. It has potential for cellaring but already drinks well.

Producers notes

At latitude 45° South, New Zealand's Central Otago is the most southerly wine region in the world. With vineyards at 200 - 400m above sea level, vines cling precariously to the steep slopes and edges of deep river gorges. This is a region of climatic extremes with typically very hot summers, short autumns and bitterly cold winter days. The soils are rocky with easy drainage and poor fertility.

All these conditions are perfect for producing world-class Pinot Noir. The unique terrior of Central Otago produces wines of extraordinary intensity and distinction that show varietal and regional definition.

Shipping

Delivery is currently free of charge for both straight and mixed cases Australia Wide. (*excludes remote postcodes in WA and NT) (*excludes fundraising orders)

In most instances, a case is 12 bottles, including all mixed cases. Please note that the case quantity can vary between 3-12 bottles, depending on individual wine value and packaging configuration.

The number of bottles that define a straight case is marked in the product pricing page (i.e. "as part of any 6", "single bottle" and "3 or 6 or 12 bottle case").

Where all or part of the order is less than a case (as defined in the product pricing options, or 12 bottles if mixed) shipping will be charged as per your postcode at our cost price, this charge amount will be visible before your order confirmation and payment.

For example, a mixed bottle order of 18 bottles will include a freight charge for the second mixed case of only 6 bottles. A mixed 24 bottle order would be totally freight free.

Our intention is to offer free shipping to as many wine lovers as possible, however, given the geographically vast size of Australia, it is not possible for us to offer free shipping to 100% of postcodes.
