Treasured for its exhilarating exotic floral aromas, our skins fermented Gewürztraminer, a variety planted in Germany, Alsace, and Northern Italy is combined with Pinot Gris for texture, balance and culinary complexity. Bone dry in style, this Gewürz Gris (GG) is a delightful companion for punchy flavours, blossoms and spice.

65% Gewürztraminer spending a week on skins, with the balance being Pinot Gris (no skins).
Lychee and musk, Japanese pickled ginger, a little citrus and pear. Juicy, mandarin, spicy, fresh acidity, a light sandy grip from skins, and a crisp and spicy finish of excellent length. So nicely done. Toss up between 93 and 94 points.

Ministry of Clouds is a toast to the pursuit of a life well-lived, and those who savour the freedom it affords. Our business was born of this desire – to carve out our own path by relinquishing the security of the past and embracing the unpredictability of life.
The partnership of two corporate refugees, our wines speak of the land and distill the essence of the season, embodying a spirit of independence and adventure, each one true to their style and place.
McLaren Vale is our heartland, where our reds are made with grapes from our own 11ha plot and other carefully selected, often ancient vines. We favour a modern take on classic styles and meticulous attention to detail. Through our wines, we celebrate those growers who persisted while others begged them to turn their land to other pursuits.
Our reds revel in Grenache, Shiraz, Mataro and Tempranillo – restrained and poised, of modest build and delicate balance, while our whites – a crystalline, dry Clare Valley Riesling and Tasmanian Chardonnay – hail from these distant but proven regions.
The culmination of a dream without borders, this is a tale of discovery, of finding our voice, and embracing the uncontrollable. Our hands get dirty, our backs sore and our hearts full.
