Crudo by name, Crudo by nature, but not a crude wine. Wine-maker Luke Lambert’s 100% Yarra Valley Shiraz, Crudo, is a hand-crafted, minimal intervention, unfiltered gem that seems more of a relative to a balanced table-wine from the Rhone. This young, vibrant Syrah-style red is perfectly balanced, fruit driven with a hint of white-pepper and a refreshing finish.

The vineyard stretches up a rocky hillside of depleted soils. It sees minimal chemical input & is harvested by hand, the bunches then carefully sorted. Natural yeast ferments are followed by maturation in very old puncheons. The wines are neither fined nor filtered before release. Skin contact & stalk inclusion vary according to the wine.

Our notes

Producers notes

The wines of Luke Lambert range from playful tothought-provoking and all share both a stylistic focus & notably balanced palate. Luke drives hard for exceptional balance in the vineyard in order to be able to avoid the use of any artificial additives in the winery.

His wines are whole-bunch, wild ferment, un-acidified & matured in very old puncheons before being bottled without fining or filtration. Luke’s wines draw inspiration from the rustic Syrah of Cornas, and the traditional Nebbiolo producers of Barolo. His vintages in Barolo at Giacomo Brezza and Cordero di Montezemolo have been the most influential on his own winemaking style.

Delivery is currently free of charge for both straight and mixed cases Australia Wide. (*excludes remote postcodes in WA and NT) (*excludes fundraising orders)

In most instances, a case is 12 bottles, including all mixed cases. Please note that the case quantity can vary between 3-12 bottles, depending on individual wine value and packaging configuration.

The number of bottles that define a straight case is marked in the product pricing page (i.e. "as part of any 6", "single bottle" and "3 or 6 or 12 bottle case").

Where all or part of the order is less than a case (as defined in the product pricing options, or 12 bottles if mixed) shipping will be charged as per your postcode at our cost price, this charge amount will be visible before your order confirmation and payment.

For example, a mixed bottle order of 18 bottles will include a freight charge for the second mixed case of only 6 bottles. A mixed 24 bottle order would be totally freight free.

Our intention is to offer free shipping to as many wine lovers as possible, however, given the geographically vast size of Australia, it is not possible for us to offer free shipping to 100% of postcodes.
