La Petite Vanguardist Blewitt 2020 - McLaren Vale

We’ve always thought of the La Petite Vanguard as being our example of a Bistro style wine – the experimental sibling to Vanguardist. Youthful & vibrant, with great drinkability, enhanced by layers of complexity from thoughtful use of solids, skin contact, oak and other vessels.

Reviews
A 50/50 blend of Grenache from Rende, and Mataro from Yangarra Estate. 30% whole bunch. Aged puncheons. 220 dozen produced. Michael Corbett never writes tasting notes for his own wines, but he sure knows how to make them. A delicate touch from a big burly bloke.
Spicy earthy Mataro meets the prettiness of rose scented Grenache; it’s a happy marriage. Plum and pecan nuts, a little liquorice, raspberry, new leather. It’s medium-bodied, earthy and spicy, some dried herb, light emery tannin, lucid and fresh, light but flavoursome. Finishes long with chalk dust tannin and a fine feel. No excess. Delightful drinking.

Producers notes
Vanguardist Wines is, in it's heart, a collaborative project between three friends, each from varying walks of life, that came to the realisation (after many a late evening in the sleepy town of Hawkes Bay, New Zealand) that they held the same ideals about wine. We all have jobs and take time outside of our everyday lives so that we have our own creative licence to produce wines that we love to drink.
‘An experimental spirit at heart’
Driven by a passion for creating wines with intrigue, 'V' is about pushing the boundaries of ‘status quo’ wine making and viticulture. Wines that are delicious, textural and enticing.
In an industry that is awash with overly commercialised wines produced by corporates who take up all the elbow room, shout noisily across the table and flood the market with mass produced wine that are often guised as ‘boutique wines’, we wish to make a humble stand and be vanguardist in our methods.
'V' is a nod to the small guys looking to keep it real, forever striving to unlock the imagination and inspire those with curious palates.
Shipping
Delivery is currently free of charge for both straight and mixed cases Australia Wide. (*excludes remote postcodes in WA and NT) (*excludes fundraising orders)
In most instances, a case is 12 bottles, including all mixed cases. Please note that the case quantity can vary between 3-12 bottles, depending on individual wine value and packaging configuration.
The number of bottles that define a straight case is marked in the product pricing page (i.e. "as part of any 6", "single bottle" and "3 or 6 or 12 bottle case").
Where all or part of the order is less than a case (as defined in the product pricing options, or 12 bottles if mixed) shipping will be charged as per your postcode at our cost price, this charge amount will be visible before your order confirmation and payment.
For example, a mixed bottle order of 18 bottles will include a freight charge for the second mixed case of only 6 bottles. A mixed 24 bottle order would be totally freight free.
Our intention is to offer free shipping to as many wine lovers as possible, however, given the geographically vast size of Australia, it is not possible for us to offer free shipping to 100% of postcodes.
