Egon Müller is arguably Germany’s most highly renowned winemaker, being the fifth generation of his family to produce wines on the famed Scharzhofberg (the only “Great Growth” of the Saar Valley). Egon has teamed up with vineyard and winery owners Shaw and Smith and Adelaide winemaker Steve Pannell to produce this exemplary wine. Kanta is a Sanskrit word meaning the beloved.
Tasting Notes:
The 2018 Kanta Riesling is pale green-gold in the glass. The nose offers enticing hints of lime sherbet, fresh hay and green papaya. The palate is tightly bound, with Kanta's signature minerality. A brilliant acid line and a tight phenolic profile indicate long cellaring potential, while tantalising notes of fresh lemon juice and the tang of green apple skin show approachability in it's youth.
