The Revivalist has a powerful bouquet of black cherry, milk chocolate and a touch of bay laurel.

Bold flavours of blackberries and barrel toast are enveloped in a lush mouthfeel. Hardly lacking in structure, the wine is incredibly balanced with beautiful acidity and pronounced yet delicate tannins. Concentrated but with a clear verve, the Revivalist leaves an indelible mark.

Hand-picked, destemmed and whole berry sorted then gently crushed. Cold soaked, native fermentation and pumped over daily with a minimum 21 days on skins. Basket pressed with light pressing included in free run and drained directly to barrel. Racked and returned three times during maturation for 15 months, aged in fine-grain Bordeaux coopered barrels of which approximately 50% were new.

Our notes

James Halliday Wine Companion
The perfume, the nuance, the power. This takes the merlot grape and knocks it out of the park. It's ripped with both fruit flavour and tannin, it's smoked with an appropriate level of oak, and it feels authoritative through the finish. In short, it's a pearler. (Campbell Mattinson) Halliday Wine Companion, 1 August, 2020

Producers notes

The Hickinbotham Clarendon Vineyard covers a steep cut of country from the ridgetops above the village of Clarendon to the Onkaparinga River in the gorge below. Since its establishment in 1971, the Hickinbotham vineyard has become an integral part of Australia’s wine heritage, supplying fruit to produce many of Australia’s greatest wines. Breathing new life into this historic vineyard, Chris Carpenter and Peter Fraser are forging a new era of Hickinbotham’s prestigious legacy; building upon and honoring the vineyard’s acclaimed record.

Delivery is currently free of charge for both straight and mixed cases Australia Wide. (*excludes remote postcodes in WA and NT) (*excludes fundraising orders)

In most instances, a case is 12 bottles, including all mixed cases. Please note that the case quantity can vary between 3-12 bottles, depending on individual wine value and packaging configuration.

The number of bottles that define a straight case is marked in the product pricing page (i.e. "as part of any 6", "single bottle" and "3 or 6 or 12 bottle case").

Where all or part of the order is less than a case (as defined in the product pricing options, or 12 bottles if mixed) shipping will be charged as per your postcode at our cost price, this charge amount will be visible before your order confirmation and payment.

For example, a mixed bottle order of 18 bottles will include a freight charge for the second mixed case of only 6 bottles. A mixed 24 bottle order would be totally freight free.

Our intention is to offer free shipping to as many wine lovers as possible, however, given the geographically vast size of Australia, it is not possible for us to offer free shipping to 100% of postcodes.
