Also known as "Petit Max" by his friends, Guy Breton is certainly a name in everyone's ear ever since Kermit Lynch dubbed him, together with Marcel Lapierre, Jean-Paul Thévenet and Jean Foillard, as Beaujolais famous "Gang of Four" in the '80s. The essence of their philosophy: take a step back, appreciate and cultivate old vines, apply organic farming practices, avoid the use of sulphur, let natural ferments do their magic and help the terroir expressing itself through minimal intervention. Following these principals, each of them has ever since proven that Beaujolais is more than just 'Nouveau' and can indeed produce meaningful, complex and wonderful wines.

The Wine Front

Old vines from one of the so-called ‘Gang of Four’, which included Marcel Lapierre, Jean-Paul Thévenet, and Jean Foillard, so from that, you may understand the ethos and style of his wines. Importer: Fesq

Cherry and spiced strawberry, something of a ginger biscuit character, dried roses and a smattering of sweet herb. Fine and precise, a rain on pebbles sort of mineral feel, loose with pleasure, but tight and controlled, in a way. Finish is long, fresh, and again stony. It’s a beautiful expression of Morgon. Beautiful. So lucid.

Producers notes

If there is one winemaker that would win 'hide-and-seek' by far, it would definitely be Guy Breton! Besides no indication of winery's location on the world wide web (and I'm talking no email, no phone number, no address), once in Villié-Morgon it took another few awkward phone calls and conversations with random strangers in broken French to finally be guided to an inconspicuous doorway. No signs, no bright letters, no nothing. Because Guy Breton simply doesn't need to. It took a lot of determination to find this place, but oh, it was so worth it!

Shipping

Delivery is currently free of charge for both straight and mixed cases Australia Wide. (*excludes remote postcodes in WA and NT) (*excludes fundraising orders)

In most instances, a case is 12 bottles, including all mixed cases. Please note that the case quantity can vary between 3-12 bottles, depending on individual wine value and packaging configuration.

The number of bottles that define a straight case is marked in the product pricing page (i.e. "as part of any 6", "single bottle" and "3 or 6 or 12 bottle case").

Where all or part of the order is less than a case (as defined in the product pricing options, or 12 bottles if mixed) shipping will be charged as per your postcode at our cost price, this charge amount will be visible before your order confirmation and payment.

For example, a mixed bottle order of 18 bottles will include a freight charge for the second mixed case of only 6 bottles. A mixed 24 bottle order would be totally freight free.

Our intention is to offer free shipping to as many wine lovers as possible, however, given the geographically vast size of Australia, it is not possible for us to offer free shipping to 100% of postcodes.
