Gaintza Getariako Txakolina 2019 - Spain
Bottle size: 750ml
In Spain, Txakoli (pronounced: chak-o-lee) is the quintessential pintxos (another name for tapas in the Basque Country of Spain) wine and is served flamboyantly with an array of bar snacks and seafood, especially oysters and sardines, but I’d also recommend Japanese food or by itself as an aperitif.
The fruit is delicious, like lemon and green apple with a slight saltiness, which is very attractive. There’s also a tiny bit of fruit sweetness which is completely subliminal and serves to offset the racy crisp acidity and sight spritz that tickles the palate, but the wine is bone dry.
It’s a lovely and slightly exotic Spanish dry white. But like all things in the Basque Country, this is done slightly differently…Bargain!
This lively, fresh light-bodied Spanish dry white Txakoli (Basque Country) is made with 85% Hondarribi Zuri and 15% Gros Manseng grapes from limestone and clay soils on granite. You get a bit of green herb and flint and dry minerality expected from this little known Spanish white wine style along with a tiny bit of residual Co2 or spritz that tickles the palate.
The fruit is delicious like lemon and green apple with a slight saltiness too which is very attractive. There’s also a tiny bit of fruit sweetness which is completely subliminal and serves to offset the racy crisp acidity. Otherwise,+ it is very dry. This is a lovely, lovely Spanish dry white… but like all things in the Basque Country. This is done slightly differently… Bargain! CR
Delivery is currently free of charge for both straight and mixed cases Australia Wide. (*excludes remote postcodes in WA and NT) (*excludes fundraising orders)
In most instances, a case is 12 bottles, including all mixed cases. Please note that the case quantity can vary between 3-12 bottles, depending on individual wine value and packaging configuration.
The number of bottles that define a straight case is marked in the product pricing page (i.e. "as part of any 6", "single bottle" and "3 or 6 or 12 bottle case").
Where all or part of the order is less than a case (as defined in the product pricing options, or 12 bottles if mixed) shipping will be charged as per your postcode at our cost price, this charge amount will be visible before your order confirmation and payment.
For example, a mixed bottle order of 18 bottles will include a freight charge for the second mixed case of only 6 bottles. A mixed 24 bottle order would be totally freight free.
Our intention is to offer free shipping to as many wine lovers as possible, however, given the geographically vast size of Australia, it is not possible for us to offer free shipping to 100% of postcodes.
