Golden color. Nose of dried fruit, apricot, almond, hazelnut, pineapple. White fruit on very aromatic pear, Provence herbs, salt. Mouth with a nice acidity, lime and orange zest. Beautiful structure, powerful. Beautiful notes of grape marc, tannins bring this structure. Light dried fruit, almonds.

Manzoni Bianco thrives on the clayey-calcareous hills above Trento, where its grapes ripen in late September. Born from the cross of Riesling and Pinot Bianco, this variety expresses the character of the Fontanasanta soil conditions. Its ability to evolve over time requires patience; Fontanasanta Manzoni Bianco is a wine that will begin to fully reveal itself after two or three years from vintage.

Our notes

This wine gained the lovely floral nose that Riesling offers with the citrus notes of Pinot Bianco. Skin fermentation gives it a slight cider-esk quality as well. Its lush mouth-feel and dry finish make it a great aperitif, but it would also pair very well with salmon or tuna. A great white for winter!

Producers notes

Based in the picture perfect Trentino town of Mezzolambardo, Elisabetta fashions elegant wines with clear territorial character. The winery was founded in 1901 with the first vintage produced in 1960 and Elisabetta making her first wine in 1984. Biodynamic conversion started in 2002 and Demeter certification in 2007. The winery focuses on the traditional Trentino varieties of Teroldego, Nosiola & Manzoni with the former making up the majority of the winery’s product1ion.

The grapes come from two distinct areas within Trentino, firstly, the Campo Rotaliano, a flood plain formed by the confluence of the Noce River into the Adige River surrounded by massive cliffs. The flooding has deposited huge quantities of limestone, granite, porphyry and fine sand, perfect for growing Teroldego. The second area is the hills east of the town of Trento, located 25 kms south of Mezzolombardo. Here the elevated Fontanasanta (holy water) estate is planted to Nosiola and Incrocio Manzoni on the rich red clay and white limestone soils.

Shipping

Delivery is currently free of charge for both straight and mixed cases Australia Wide. (*excludes remote postcodes in WA and NT) (*excludes fundraising orders)

In most instances, a case is 12 bottles, including all mixed cases. Please note that the case quantity can vary between 3-12 bottles, depending on individual wine value and packaging configuration.

The number of bottles that define a straight case is marked in the product pricing page (i.e. "as part of any 6", "single bottle" and "3 or 6 or 12 bottle case").

Where all or part of the order is less than a case (as defined in the product pricing options, or 12 bottles if mixed) shipping will be charged as per your postcode at our cost price, this charge amount will be visible before your order confirmation and payment.

For example, a mixed bottle order of 18 bottles will include a freight charge for the second mixed case of only 6 bottles. A mixed 24 bottle order would be totally freight free.

Our intention is to offer free shipping to as many wine lovers as possible, however, given the geographically vast size of Australia, it is not possible for us to offer free shipping to 100% of postcodes.
