Allen Meadows - Burghound
(aged half in wood, half in steel with only ~10% of the portion in wood being new – from Puligny vines). Post-bottling sulfur presently dominates the underlying fruit so give this a quick aeration if you’re going to crack a bottle before a year has gone by. Otherwise there is excellent energy to the delicious, racy and saline-inflected flavors that terminate in a clean, dry and linear finish. Despite the difficult nose, this offers fine potential as an ageworthy Bourgogne. (6/2019)
It all begins in the first part of the twentieth century, after getting a heritage of some grape vines and buying some others, my great grandfather Etienne Sauzet created domain with the same name in Puligny-Montrachet (21190, Côte d’or, Burgundy).
After four generations and despite his demise since 1975, SAUZET are still 6 letters which ring as an homage at Chardonnay.
At every moments, it’s a pride to walk on the mythics lands of Puligny, this ground, this earth which gave birth to our wines.
This territory is a deep fastener in me, a direct link to my family.
I want to do a tribute to Etienne Sauzet first but also to my parents, Jeanine and Gérard Boudot who have done everything to raise the great reputation of the domain that it has today.
Our vineyard represents 15 ha distributed on Puligny-Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet and Cormot-le-Grand in the Hautes côtes de Beaune.
We take care of our grape vines, our land, the nature, which give energy to each piece of grapes then to every wine.
Our work is respectful of what have been done before, a little step for future and we are proud to continue it…

The number of bottles that define a straight case is marked in the product pricing page (i.e. "as part of any 6", "single bottle" and "3 or 6 or 12 bottle case").
