Domaine Dujac Puligny Montrachet Les Folatieres 1er Cru 2018 - Burgundy
Bottle size: 750ml
Maximum buy quantity no greater than 3 bottles.
The Premier Cru Les Folatières is located on the westward slope of the village of Puligny-Montrachet, with an average gradient of 10%, an altitude between 250 and 272 meters, and an orientation towards the southeast.
The soil, a brown-red color, 40-60 centimeters thick, is very rich in angular, white limestone rocks.
The sub-soil of Folatières is made up of very compact limestone which crumbles into thick slabs, used as part of a marble quarry under the name “Pierre de Chassagne,” or “Stone of Chassagne.”
Note: from Peux Bois and Folatières proper
There is a whiff of the exotic in the form of pineapple wisps that combine with notes of acacia blossom and various white-fleshed fruit aromas. The lush and opulent yet relatively refined medium-bodied flavors possess slightly better mid-palate density, all wrapped in a youthfully austere but not quite as dry finale. This isn't classically styled but there's clearly more here.

Outer quote mark The 2018 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Folatières was showing well, wafting from the glass with aromas of pear, citrus oil, nutmeg and warm pastry, followed by a medium to full-bodied, racy and nicely defined palate that's long and intense. (WK) Inner quote mark (1/2020)
