A Chardonnay lovers dream, brilliant value and hard to beat. A Wine Experience top pick!

Citrus driven chardonnay with complex flinty, toasty and biscuit notes derived from extended barrel aging on full solids.  Vibrant, lively acidity delivers a focused palate which unfurls and exposes intense citrus flavours with an underlying brioche and hazelnut influence.

Our notes

So how did this humble New Zealand Chardonnay [admittedly made by the brilliant ex-Cloudy Bay duo James Healy and Ivan Sutherland] impress Master of Wine Jancis Robinson so much that she was willing to throw Coche Dury, the Master, under the bus? In anycase we tried it a few days ago and it is a stunning chardonnay, complex, multilayered, beautifully constructed, and we could see, especially in a blind tasting, how it could undo the legends.

This has such complex and rich style to it with a flinty edge to the peach, grilled-lime and lemon-pith aromas. The palate has really rich textural layering and plenty of peach, grapefruit and pastry flavors. Resolved, powerful and smooth. Drink or hold. jamessuckling.com, 21 October, 2019

A very consistent performer here at The WineFront, with all of us in broad agreement. Comes with the (usual) caveat that you have to enjoy a whole heap of funky, smoky, stuck match characters in your Chardonnay. That aside, it’s intense, packed with peach and mixed citrus, spice and grilled nuts. To go with that, some danish pastry richness, a lot of flint and grip to texture, and a sizzling long finish that doesn’t let go. It’s perhaps a little ‘shouty’ in style, but sometimes it’s nice to be heard.

Medium yellow colour reflecting some age development, while the bouquet is very flinty, smoky and sulfidic, the burnt-matchstick note almost straying into an electrical-fire smell. Liberal oak has been employed. The wine is full-bodied and intense, but elevated acidity keeps it very much alive on the tongue. This wine makes a statement. It's an extreme style as far as sulfides go. The Real Review, 18 December, 2019

Shipping

Delivery is currently free of charge for both straight and mixed cases Australia Wide. (*excludes remote postcodes in WA and NT) (*excludes fundraising orders)

In most instances, a case is 12 bottles, including all mixed cases. Please note that the case quantity can vary between 3-12 bottles, depending on individual wine value and packaging configuration.

The number of bottles that define a straight case is marked in the product pricing page (i.e. "as part of any 6", "single bottle" and "3 or 6 or 12 bottle case").

Where all or part of the order is less than a case (as defined in the product pricing options, or 12 bottles if mixed) shipping will be charged as per your postcode at our cost price, this charge amount will be visible before your order confirmation and payment.

For example, a mixed bottle order of 18 bottles will include a freight charge for the second mixed case of only 6 bottles. A mixed 24 bottle order would be totally freight free.

Our intention is to offer free shipping to as many wine lovers as possible, however, given the geographically vast size of Australia, it is not possible for us to offer free shipping to 100% of postcodes.
