Deviation Road Altair Brut Rose NV - Adelaide Hills
Bottle size: 750ml
**96 Points Halliday Wine Companion 2023**
peaches · strawberry · grapefruit · citrus lift
Pinot Noir and Meunier give the Altair power and riper red fruit aromas, and citrus lift and finesse from the Chardonnay. The addition of multi-vintage reserve wines adds depth and complexity. The fine, creamy mousse complements the peach and citrus characters. Bottle fermented and aged before a low dosage is added to balance the texture and acidity of the wine.
This is a delightful and utterly delicious sparkling rosé. The sparkling wines of Deviation road come highly recommended.
55/45% pinot noir/chardonnay. The base vintage is 2018 with reserve wines added; 40 months on lees. Disgorged October, 2021. 8g/L dosage. A finely beaded, salmon-pink sparkling that rates among Australia's best. Confidently presented with complexity and poise, Altair wears a delicate sheen of savoury autolysis with almonds, baked pastry, poached pear, bright red berries aromas. Layer upon layer of delicate flavour, texture and depth. Runs fine, long and so impressive. All class.
