‘Ventoux' in Southern France near Provence is one of those appellations that really deliver on delish, price-friendly French table wines, particularly when made by a top producer like Delas. The Ventoux wines are a little like Côtes-du-Rhône wines, using similar grapes such as Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre, and occasionally some Cinsault and Carignan.

The 2020 Delas Ventoux Rouge is a delight! It has a very pretty nose with classic Grenache perfume (80%) and some deeper tones from the Shiraz (20%. Clean and pure and so lovely with dark cherry-dominated flavours amidst some gentle strawberry, savoury wild herbs and earthen spice.
Such a wonderful release that really evokes the sun-kissed, wild landscape of the South of France. An absolute bargain!”
