Our notes

We were lucky enough to have Vanya Cullen stop by the store and show us a range of her wines.  The Cullen brand is synonymous with outstanding wines of character and energy, so the expectation is always high.  Constantine, Carl and I were impressed by the finesse, energy and sheer drinkability of every wine we tasted.   That being said, the quality to price ratio of this Cabernet Merlot is phenomenal.  If you haven't drunk a bottle recently, we highly recommend you seek one out!  (Scott)

Halliday Wine Companion 2020
An 81/19% blend matured in French oak (30% new) for an average of 6 months. The colour is good, the bouquet expressive and very good, but it is the palate that really takes off, blackcurrant/cassis and bay leaf riding on a magic carpet of ripe tannins. This isn't the best wine in the Cullen line-up, but it arguably offers the best value.

The Wine Front
Understated in the typical Cullen way, though it’s very much a wine that builds and reveals itself with time in glass, decanter, or cellar. Violet, boysenberry, nutty, slight leafy edge but ripe enough to deliver flavour, but with restraint. Medium bodied, dry insistent suede tannin, and a long finish with dark chocolate and tobacco trailing. Charming. Better again with a few years in the cellar.

Producers notes

On the advice of eminent agronomist Dr. John Gladstones, Dr. Kevin and Diana Cullen planted a trial acre of vines at Wilyabrup, Margaret River in 1966. Commencing in 1971, 18 acres of vines were planted on their sheep and cattle farm, including their first Cabernet Sauvignon vines. Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Semillon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc were planted between 1976 and 1978.

In 2005, the iconic Diana Madeline Cabernet Merlot was elevated to the top Langton's classification category of 'Exceptional'. All Cullen Wines are grown on a certified Biodynamic, Carbon Neutral and naturally powered estate.

Delivery is currently free of charge for both straight and mixed cases Australia Wide. (*excludes remote postcodes in WA and NT) (*excludes fundraising orders)

In most instances, a case is 12 bottles, including all mixed cases. Please note that the case quantity can vary between 3-12 bottles, depending on individual wine value and packaging configuration.

The number of bottles that define a straight case is marked in the product pricing page (i.e. "as part of any 6", "single bottle" and "3 or 6 or 12 bottle case").

Where all or part of the order is less than a case (as defined in the product pricing options, or 12 bottles if mixed) shipping will be charged as per your postcode at our cost price, this charge amount will be visible before your order confirmation and payment.

For example, a mixed bottle order of 18 bottles will include a freight charge for the second mixed case of only 6 bottles. A mixed 24 bottle order would be totally freight free.

Our intention is to offer free shipping to as many wine lovers as possible, however, given the geographically vast size of Australia, it is not possible for us to offer free shipping to 100% of postcodes.
