Chateau Loirac Medoc Cru Bourgeois 2015 - Bordeaux
Bottle size: 750ml
Arguably the most famous wine region on planet earth for Cabernet and Cabernet Blends, Bordeaux is one of the vinous jewels of French winemaking with prices hitting the stratospheres for the regions top wines.
In fact, finding GOOD Bordeaux at reasonable prices can be a bit of a minefield with many average wines on the market.
Well, we’ve done the homework. Searching high and low, we have found a well-crafted Medoc that over-delivers in both quality and value for money. We’ve drunk it. We’ve enjoyed it. It screams of Bordeaux and quite frankly Bordeaux at this price rarely does display clear varietal or regional characters. However, this is unmistakably classic Medoc and distinctly Bordeaux… we hope you enjoy!
Chateau Loirac Cru Bourgeois Medoc 2015 is a blend of predominately Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and a dash of Petit Verdot. It’s very ‘claret’ like and just on medium bodied showing classic Bordeaux aromas and flavours of lead pencil, dried herbs, graphite, and rich essency cassis wrapped in attractive cedary French oak and flinty smoky minerality. Very impressed with this and happy to find a Bordeaux that you don’t have to hock your car to enjoy. It’s an honest wine. And just lovely to drink. CR

''This has a ripe complex bouquet of sweet red and black fruits, spice and vanilla notes. With a charming, medium bodied, impressively elegant style, fine tannins, and a good balance.’’ - Jeb Dunnuck, [JebDunnuck.com]
