$25.00: single bottle
$270.00: per case of 12

I know it’s a big big call, and we don’t make it lightly, but Is this Australia’s best value Chardonnay at the moment? Personal preferences aside we think it actually might be! You be the judge.

Those who follow our Wine of the Week should know by now that we try not to exaggerate or hype our offers. This, for example, isn’t super complex but it is incredibly delicious for a sub $25 dollar Chardonnay, reinforced by the almost cult-like following it has with our customers, even our afficinados who usually buy/drink Chardonnay’s at twice or three times the price.

Furthermore the fruit for this comes from a family run dry grown hand-picked vineyard in the Tarwin River Valley of South Gippland. The only thing that is puzzling in fact about this lovely Chardonnay is how Bellvale owner/winemaker John Ellis can release it at this price? It’s a dead set bargain!

Our notes

Lovely classic Chardonnay nose of stone fruit, honey, a little roasted nut and brioche ushers in a flavoursome mid-weight palate which echo’s the nose with attractive light buttery notes a highlight [and so sought after by many Chardonnay drinkers]. It’s a delicious Chardonnay at the price. A dead set bargain!

Australian Wine Review
Just buy some. The end. John Ellis’ dry-grown Bellvale vineyard in Gippsland can produce some of the most concentrated Chardonnay and Pinot around, and at an incredible price. This nutty, leesy, full- tilt Chardonnay style is concentrated, complex and dense – it’s been to Burgundy and has the t-shirt. Power. Complexity. Sublime value. Best drinking: now – it’s just going to get fatter in time. 18.5/20, 94/100. 13%. Would I buy it? Absolutely.

Producers notes

Established in 1998, Bellvale Wine is a family-owned business run by principal winemaker and viticulturalist, John Ellis. Situated in the lush Tarwin River valley of South Gippsland, the area is acknowledged as one of Australia’s best Pinot-Noir producing regions. This is reflected in Bellvale’s numerous international and national awards over the last 20 years.

Delivery is currently free of charge for both straight and mixed cases Australia Wide. (*excludes remote postcodes in WA and NT) (*excludes fundraising orders)

In most instances, a case is 12 bottles, including all mixed cases. Please note that the case quantity can vary between 3-12 bottles, depending on individual wine value and packaging configuration.

The number of bottles that define a straight case is marked in the product pricing page (i.e. "as part of any 6", "single bottle" and "3 or 6 or 12 bottle case").

Where all or part of the order is less than a case (as defined in the product pricing options, or 12 bottles if mixed) shipping will be charged as per your postcode at our cost price, this charge amount will be visible before your order confirmation and payment.

For example, a mixed bottle order of 18 bottles will include a freight charge for the second mixed case of only 6 bottles. A mixed 24 bottle order would be totally freight free.

Our intention is to offer free shipping to as many wine lovers as possible, however, given the geographically vast size of Australia, it is not possible for us to offer free shipping to 100% of postcodes.
