Arfion Snowflake Savagnin 2018 - Yarra Valley
Closure: Screw cap
Bottle size: 750ml
Snowflake is produced in small amounts every year from an excellent parcel of fruit that we believe can make something really special.
Luckily for us, in 2018, a tiny 6 row block of Savagnin became available from the Rising Vineyard near St Andrew’s in the Yarra Valley.
Originally planted by Neil Roberts around 2000, as a trial block, on the understanding it was Albarino. Turned out it wasn’t.
I decided to split it and make the two main still styles that are made in Jura. A topped version (that sees a touch of late sulphur) and an ullaged version that spends longer in barrel and is aged with flor yeast. This is the topped version.
We source fruit from highly skilled growers across the Yarra Valley where the site and variety are in harmony.
We want to make Arfion wines attractive and true to their sites, so we employ a range of low impact winemaking practices to create interest without allowing any one element to dominate.
Not necessarily conforming to an existing style, we aim to create wines that have their own thumbprint and can evolve as we do. They are the result of our interpretation of the many connections between vintage, style and site.
Above everything else though, they have to be super tasty.
Delivery is currently free of charge for both straight and mixed cases Australia Wide. (*excludes remote postcodes in WA and NT) (*excludes fundraising orders)
In most instances, a case is 12 bottles, including all mixed cases. Please note that the case quantity can vary between 3-12 bottles, depending on individual wine value and packaging configuration.
The number of bottles that define a straight case is marked in the product pricing page (i.e. "as part of any 6", "single bottle" and "3 or 6 or 12 bottle case").
Where all or part of the order is less than a case (as defined in the product pricing options, or 12 bottles if mixed) shipping will be charged as per your postcode at our cost price, this charge amount will be visible before your order confirmation and payment.
For example, a mixed bottle order of 18 bottles will include a freight charge for the second mixed case of only 6 bottles. A mixed 24 bottle order would be totally freight free.
Our intention is to offer free shipping to as many wine lovers as possible, however, given the geographically vast size of Australia, it is not possible for us to offer free shipping to 100% of postcodes.
