Moderate garnet with a mauve edge.  Medium intensity plum fruit with subtle cinnamon spice lift defines the nose. The concentration of the primary fruit aromatics builds giving dimension. There is a background nuance of licorice and lavender florals, which elegantly fold into a gentle gamey bouquet.Generous and succulent with a supple tannin texture, the palate has a silky flow with juicy acidity giving impressive length and persistence.

Brightness and approachability are the driving force of this wine, however a hint of complexity we have come to expect from this vineyard adds a layer of real and intriguing character to the fruit depth. It’s drinking pretty bloody well right now but it won’t disappoint with a few years stashed away. Cellar for 3 to 6 years.

Order heaps of Pot Stickers, Dumpling and Siu Mai with pork as the common ingredient. That’ll leave them happy.

Producers notes

The vineyard has been laid out in 6 sections; Blocks A and B were planted in 2002 with the remainder the following year. We have approximately 40,000 vines planted in 12 hectares. All we grow is Pinot noir and we carefully selected a set of 6 clones which were grafted onto 2 American rootstocks and planted across the vineyard according to soil and aspect.

Over the years we have watched these 12 different plants settle and begin to express wonderfully diverse characters. They respond to weather conditions and the evolution of each vintage quite differently and present us with a rich palette of choice come blending time.

We strongly believe in two established Pinot viticultural tenets: patience is a virtue and strength comes with adversity. As our vines enter their second decade their resilience is proven and the character that only comes with vine age is becoming more defined. On the 45th parallel and at 380m above sea level ours is a vineyard on the edge - we like that and so do our vines.

Shipping

Delivery is currently free of charge for both straight and mixed cases Australia Wide. (*excludes remote postcodes in WA and NT) (*excludes fundraising orders)

In most instances, a case is 12 bottles, including all mixed cases. Please note that the case quantity can vary between 3-12 bottles, depending on individual wine value and packaging configuration.

The number of bottles that define a straight case is marked in the product pricing page (i.e. "as part of any 6", "single bottle" and "3 or 6 or 12 bottle case").

Where all or part of the order is less than a case (as defined in the product pricing options, or 12 bottles if mixed) shipping will be charged as per your postcode at our cost price, this charge amount will be visible before your order confirmation and payment.

For example, a mixed bottle order of 18 bottles will include a freight charge for the second mixed case of only 6 bottles. A mixed 24 bottle order would be totally freight free.

Our intention is to offer free shipping to as many wine lovers as possible, however, given the geographically vast size of Australia, it is not possible for us to offer free shipping to 100% of postcodes.
