We have always held a soft spot for the wines of Stefano Lubiana, located just outside Hobart (Granton) on a north-facing block along the Derwent River. The Lubiana family recently celebrated 30 years in Tasmania, having established their vineyard in 1990.
Stefano has always passionately believed in treating the vines with utmost respect, farming the vineyards using biodynamic farming principles since 2010. In fact it was Tasmania’s first. This means the wines are free of all synthetic treatments, additives and pesticides. Instead they travel the alternative path, stepping back in time and using cosmic rhythms to ensure soil regeneration as well as effective vine care through all phases of the year’s seasonal cycles.
