Discover Sangiovese
The taste of Tuscany

Sangiovese, pronounced [SAHN-joh-VEH-zeh]
Sangiovese is the most widely planted grape variety in Italy. Its importance cannot be overstated. It has been grown in Tuscany since at least the 16th Century and dominates the vineyard landscape, being the main variety in Chianti Classico, and used exclusively in the highly prized and sought after Brunello di Montalcino, although recent research points to a possible southern Italian origin.
When grown in a desirable location and treated gently in the winery, Sangiovese produces spellbinding wines of elegance and life-enhancing drinkability. Medium in weight, with bright, mouthwatering acidity, firm tannins and flavours in the morello/sour cherry and dried tea/underbrush spectrum.
